What a Meghalaya week actually costs
A short Shillong–Sohra–Dawki loop is one number. Nongriat plus Jaintia is another, because the nights and the road both grow.
A practical private-tour floor is about ₹18,000–₹40,000+ per person, land only. Flights or trains to Guwahati sit outside that band.

Usually included — and usually not
Stay, breakfast, dinner, private vehicle, Guwahati pickup and drop, listed sightseeing, fuel, driver, tolls and parking. Always read the card.
Common extras: lunch, flights or trains, personal spend, Umngot boats, cave and skywalk tickets, Nongriat guide or porter, heaters, laundry, insurance, and any night added because a road closed.
Why the cab dominates
A sedan suits two or three people on Highlights. An SUV suits families and the longer Scenic or Complete weeks. A tempo traveller costs more in total and less per head when six or eight share it.
Two people split the same car two ways. Four people split it four ways. A riverside night at Shnongpdeng can move the hotel line on Explorer and Scenic Escape. Monsoon does not automatically make the package cheaper — it makes the day less predictable.
Peak weeks and couple floors
Summer holidays, long weekends, Christmas and festivals push rooms and cabs. Shoulder weeks after the monsoon are often kinder.
Working land-package floors for two people on standard stays: 4N/5D about ₹36,000–₹50,000 · 5N/6D ₹42,000–₹58,000 · 6N/7D ₹50,000–₹68,000 · 7N/8D ₹58,000–₹80,000+. Tickets and boats extra. Upgrade one or two nights rather than every hotel.

- Best family mix: Explorer 5N/6D
- Best nature loop: Waterfalls & Caves 5N/6D
- Best couples week: Scenic Escape 6N/7D
- Best complete week: Complete Circuit 7N/8D
Do not load four nights with Nongriat, Dawki and Jaintia. Highlights is better value than an overloaded short card. A 5N/6D or 6N/7D week is the usual balance.
