What a Uttarakhand week actually costs
A short Mussoorie or Nainital stay is one number. Binsar–Chaukori–Munsiyari is another, because the road is longer.
Days, hotels, vehicle, season and headcount all move the total. Use the bands below as planning figures, not a live tariff.
Indicative land-package ranges

*Comfortable private tour with stay, breakfast/dinner and the circuit cab. Dates, hotels, vehicle and occupancy change the number. Flights and trains are extra.
Usually included — and usually not
Stay, breakfast, dinner, private vehicle, airport or station pickup and drop, listed sightseeing, driver, fuel, tolls and parking. Always read the card.
Common extras: lunch, tickets to fly or take the train, personal spend, rafting, Corbett safari permits, entry and boat fees, heaters, laundry, insurance, and any night added because a road closed.
Why the cab dominates on longer weeks
A sedan suits two or three people on a short Garhwal loop. An SUV suits families and the Kumaon line. A tempo traveller costs more in total and less per head when six or eight people share it.
Two people split the same car two ways. Four people split it four ways. That is why a family week can look cheaper per person than a couple on the same route. Munsiyari should not be compared to a Nainital weekend on a per-night hotel line — transport is a large part of Grand Escape.
Peak weeks and extras
Summer holidays, long weekends, festivals and New Year push rooms and cabs up. Weekdays and the shoulder after the monsoon are kinder. Budget separately for lunch, safari, rafting, boats and shopping.
A couple on a comfortable standard week should treat ₹40,000–₹70,000+ as a working land-package floor for two, depending on nights and hotels. Add tickets to get there.
Which circuit is good value?
- Best short budget: Highlights 5N/6D
- Best family mix: Nainital + Corbett 5N/6D
- Best quiet hills: Kumaon Retreat 6N/7D
- Best deep Kumaon: Grand Escape 8N/9D
- Best nature mix: Garhwal Nature 7N/8D
The cheapest card is not always the best value. Distance travelled can move the price as much as the hotel band. Pick one region. Book Mussoorie and Nainital early in May.
Planning floors: short week ₹20,000–₹30,000 per person · 6–7 days ₹25,000–₹35,000 · extended Kumaon ₹30,000–₹45,000+.
