Highlights, plus a night on the Umngot

Five nights so Dawki is not a drive-through. After Sohra you sleep near Shnongpdeng or Dawki, take the river in the evening, then Mawlynnong and Riwai on the way back to Shillong. Pickup and drop remain Guwahati.

This is still not Nongriat. The double-decker needs the 7N/8D card. Boats and water time are extra.

Guwahati to Shillong

Shillong sightseeing

  • Shillong Peak, Elephant Falls, Ward’s Lake.
  • Local sightseeing and markets.
Day 03

Shillong to Sohra

Overnight · Sohra

  • Mawkdok Dympep Valley.
  • Wei Sawdong Falls if the stairs fit the group.
  • Nohkalikai Falls and Mawsmai Cave.
  • Seven Sisters Falls.
Day 04

Sohra to Dawki and Shnongpdeng

Overnight · Shnongpdeng / Dawki

  • Drive to Dawki and the Umngot.
  • Boating and water time — extra, season depending.
  • A slower riverside evening.
Day 05

Shnongpdeng to Mawlynnong and Shillong

Overnight · Shillong

  • Mawlynnong village.
  • Riwai living root bridge.
  • Return to Shillong.
Day 06

Shillong to Guwahati

Transfer · Airport / station

  • Breakfast and departure to Guwahati.
