A river town that deserves more than a single night on the way to Tawang
Dirang sits in a wider valley than Bomdila, with the river close, apple slopes in season and Sangti a short drive away. Many Tawang itineraries treat it as a bed between two long drives. It works better as a real stop: hot springs, a monastery morning, and a slow afternoon in the fields.
The altitude is kinder than Tawang, which makes Dirang useful for acclimatisation before the Sela climb. Two nights here change the feel of the whole western circuit.
Blossom on the slopes and a green valley floor.
Full orchards, but cloud and rain on the higher road.
The cleanest views toward the Tawang side.
A quiet, cold Dirang — still the better halt before a snowy pass.
