You begin on a Dal Lake houseboat with a decorated shikara evening, keep a full day in Srinagar for gardens and photographs, then stay two nights by the Lidder in Pahalgam. Sonmarg and Gulmarg each get their own overnight — mountain-view rooms and a last-evening bonfire — instead of being treated as day trips from the city.
