The balanced first circuit

Six nights adds a Sham Valley day that the 5N plan cannot hold: Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, the Indus–Zanskar confluence, Alchi and Basgo — all from a Leh base — before you cross Khardung La. Two full Leh nights still sit before the pass.

Nubra to Pangong uses the Shyok road. Return is Chang La. Same altitude rule: no high pass on day one.

Day 01

Arrival in Leh — acclimatisation

Overnight · Leh

  • Arrive at Leh Airport and transfer to the hotel.
  • The rest of the day is reserved for rest and acclimatisation.
  • Stay hydrated. Avoid strenuous activity.
Day 02

Sham Valley excursion

Overnight · Leh

  • Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and Magnetic Hill.
  • Indus–Zanskar confluence at Nimmu.
  • Alchi Monastery.
  • Basgo monastery and fort if time remains. Return to Leh.
Day 03

Leh local sightseeing

Overnight · Leh

  • A relaxed morning.
  • Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa and Sankar Monastery.
  • Leh Market.
  • Return to the hotel and prepare for Nubra.
Day 04

Leh to Nubra via Khardung La

Overnight · Nubra Valley

  • Cross Khardung La and descend into Nubra.
  • Diskit Monastery and the giant Maitreya.
  • Hunder sand dunes. Camel ride optional and extra.
Day 05

Nubra to Pangong via Shyok

Overnight · Pangong Lake

  • Depart Nubra on the Shyok route.
  • Arrive Pangong and check in.
  • Evening on the shore as the water changes colour.
Day 06

Pangong to Leh via Chang La

Overnight · Leh

  • Morning at the lake.
  • Return to Leh across Chang La.
  • Afternoon or evening arrival. Shopping or rest.
Day 07

Leh departure

Transfer · Leh Airport

  • After breakfast, transfer to Leh Airport.
